Reflections on the Art of Being Human at Work.

The Ones That Stand Behind You How often do you connect with those who came before you? What did they live through? What were their unfulfilled dreams? What stories are still alive in your family to this day? What is unknown?
Granted When one is committed to limiting beliefs about their worth, it shows up in a diminution of self. Moving from out of the ‘old outfits’ we wear and into a wardrobe that fits who we are, is a matter of finding that internal switch out of scarcity and into one of sufficiency.
Getting Resourced When we grieve we grow in our capacity to hold life’s inevitable heartbreaks in a bigger and bigger love. In moments where the ground rushed out beneath you, what helps you recover or fortify your deep psychological stability?
Against the Odds Failure is normal. A company that fails doesn’t mean you are a failure.
Right-size Learning to trust that it’s safe to be ourselves is a practice of affirming for ourselves what we know to be true, what we feel, where we are in space, where we are in our body, what we can sense from our surroundings. Finding this place of belonging in ourselves, we step out into the world more secure about our place in it.
From Heartbreak, Through Resilience, To Equanimity In transitions, abrupt or otherwise, there’s heartbreak and grief to sit with while the heart muscle of resilience grows bigger to hold it all so that we can be at peace, in a new place, with what we’ve been through and where we find ourselves. If we’re lucky, we find ourselves having arrived with more congruency between our inner person and our outer person.
Bigger Than a Bread Box For those with a fix-it tendency, consider asking: Who or what are you fixing? What fuels the fixing? What are you feeling when you’re fixing? What might the fixing be trying to fix about how you're feeling?
The Thing About Hard Things It’s in the throes of life that the most profound personal growth happens for us. Hard things are best paired with our awareness and choice.
Shifting for the Better We all depend on each other in one way or another. This holds true for those in the nucleus of our lives and families, and those in widening circles from there--neighbors, friendships, business relationships.
